Booking an Appointment

  • Visit our COVID-19 Protection and Vaccines page for details of how to book your vaccine appointment

  • Booking lines are busy so please be patient or try calling back later in the day or week

  • If you don’t immediately see appointments available, please keep trying as more availability will be added to the system when more vaccine is received or appointments have been cancelled

  • Second dose appointments are available for those that reach their 16 week interval or that qualify for an earlier dose

  • Getting the same type of vaccine for your first and second doses is optimal but guidance has been released to allowing mixing of vaccine types

  • Self-booking can now be done online as well as through our call centre

  • This is a booking system, it does not assess eligibility. If there is availability you will be able to book an appointment. If you are not eligible, you will be turned away at the clinic.

  • The weekly contingency list program offers up last minute doses to those in the priority groups. Sign up each week between Tuesday at 8:00am and Wednesday at 4:30pm to be called

  • Be sure to cancel any not needed appointments – contact the 1-844-369-1234 number to cancel or, for bookings in Pomelo, check your email confirmation from the first appointment for a link to cancel online. Please advise the clinic staff when you are checking out if you have an upcoming appointment that needs to be cancelled

Youth will have some special supports and a youth-friendly environment. Information about these clinics can be found here

  • Youth 12–17 are only eligible for Pfizer vaccine

Update on Pharmacy Program

  • Ontario Pharmacies have Pfizer and Moderna vaccine for first and second doses. Check here to find one close to you

  • Those who received AstraZeneca (AZ) for a first dose at a pharmacy are eligible for a second dose 8 to 12 weeks from the date of their 1st dose (second dose can be AZ or an mRNA vaccine). Maximum protection is at 12 weeks after the first dose. Individuals can opt to receive it as early as 8 weeks to get the benefit of the second dose sooner

  • If you wish to have AZ, please look for a pharmacy that offers AZ. The Health Unit does not have any AZ

  • If you choose to have an mRNA vaccine as your 2nd dose – you can book that for 8-12 weeks after your first dose at one of our clinics, a local pharmacy, or with a participating health care provider
